~Talk about passionate~

“It is true that we cannot make a genius. We can only give to each child the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities.” Dr. Maria Montessori

"If there is any responsibility in the cycle of life it must be that one generation owes to the next that strength by which it can come to face ultimate concerns in its own way." Erik Erikson

~Erik Erikson says it so much better~

“Children love and want to be loved and they very much prefer the joy of accomplishment to the triumph of hateful failure. Do not mistake a child for his symptom.

“The richest and fullest lives attempt to achieve an inner balance between three realms: work, love and play.”

"The infant's first social achievement, then, is his willingness to let the mother out of sight without undue anxiety or rage, because she has become an inner certainty as well as an outer predictability".

"Babies control and bring up their families as much as they are controlled by them; in fact ... the family brings up baby by being brought up by him".

"Children must eventually train their own children, and any impoverishment of their impulse life, for the sake of avoiding friction, must be considered a possible liability affecting more than one lifetime".

~Loving these quotes by Dr. Maria Montessori ~ Please enjoy....

“The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.”

“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.”

“It is the child who makes the man, and no man exists who was not made by the child he once was.”
When dealing with children there is greater need for observing than of probing”

“It is true that we cannot make a genius. We can only give to teach child the chance to fulfil his potential possibilities.”

“Little children, from the moment they are weaned, are making their way toward independence.”
“Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed.”

Personal Childhood Web
Voncile Wilborn – my beloved mother whom instilled so much in me from birth until 1996 when she went home to rest. She would always say get all the education you can because once you get it, it’s yours and no one can take it away from you. Franklin Wilborn- my father which he was and still is the hard rock of my family. My father has been my rock and he believed and still believes in me. He always tell me that I can do it just don’t give up. Two of my elementary and junior high school teachers Vera Ramsey (Jr. High) and Naomi Cook (Elementary) both were very hard on me and they both spoke the same knowledge to me. It was always don’t stop you have the potential to do what you set your mind to. The believed that one day I would make a difference just as they made a difference in my life. I wish these two wonderful people were still around I know they would be very proud of the hard work they did molding such an educated young woman. The last two people was my pastor and a dear member of my church Dr. Raymond Cochran and Elmira Parker, these two did a great deal of praying for me when I thought I wasn’t going to make it and almost gave up after the birth f my three children. Being a single parent being in school was the last thing I wanted to do but with the praying and counseling I made it through and these two individuals were my rock. Each of these individuals holds a special place in my heart and from their nurturing I know I had a bigger place in their hearts.
The long talks and prayers have led me to where I am today. I think back on what my mom use to say go get it and when you get it all of it belongs to you. My mentors would tell me to go get it and never settle for little think big and strive big and make a difference, leave a positive mark so that one day you can look back and say I had a great part in that great creation.

Favorite Childhood Quote

"Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning”
Maya Angelou

My Favorite Childhood Book "Little Red Riding Hood"

My favorite childhood book “Little Red Riding Hood” was the best book I thought anyone could have ever written.  When I was small and I overheard another teacher read the book it wasn’t what she was reading it was how she read it. The story caught my attention and I could not let go of thinking about that book. My parents bought the book and each day I would get someone, a neighbor anyone to me that book to me over and over and over. No one ever read it like Mrs. James ever again but that didn’t matter I still wanted to hear the story.
